IOTJ Gets Foundation Grant For Television Productions!

HD PITTSBURG, CA, August 10, 2009 - The National Organization Of Injured Workers, America's only national injured workers advocacy organization, is pleased to announce their purchase of a portable live professional video production package for production of the "Injured On The Job" televison show and their other video productions made specifically for web distribution and video podcasts. This equipment will allow them to take their media to the next generation of video technology and now produce their media in "High Definition" video!

This purchase was made possible by a private foundation grant to NOIW (the National Organization of Injured Workers, Inc.), a charitable California non-profit corporation dedicated to informing, educating and empowering America's injured workers so that they don't become victims of "Big Insurance"!

Sam Gold, volunteer director of NOIW and producer of Injured On The Job, said, "Up till now we have solely relied on Bay Area public access television production facilities and equipment to produce the video productions that you see on television and on our web sites. As such we have had to conform our studio reservations according to their time schedules."

Due to the passage of a statewide cable franchising agreement in California known as DIVCA, community public access facilities no longer can get the proper funding required to operate their facilities and many are closing down as is the facility where they formerly produced their media, and at least 14 facilities in the Los Angeles area alone!

With the purchase of this new equipment, they will be able to cover the most important stories in a more timely fashion and get that information to the public faster than before.

"Injured On The Job" Is YOUR Show, Not Ours!

With this television program, we bring the truth to the people of California so that at some point in the future, we may effect a reform to this system that remains perpetually broken and ineffective.

Our goal is threefold: to EDUCATE, to INFORM and to EMPOWER you to take control of your life and not let some ruthless corporate predator take control of it for you!

This television program was created to give California's injured workers the media exposure that the mainstream radio & television stations in our state seem not to want to afford them and to expose the fraud and corruption that has placed injured workers, their treatment providers and their attorneys in a virtual stranglehold.

You get the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Unedited and sometimes embarrassing, but out on the table where you can see it.

Help us help others! Watch your money at work everyday!

You can help by contacting your local cable company and find out how to get a public access program on their system. It doesn't cost a cent and we will be glad to assist you with the process It exists for you! We invite any injured worker, attorney, doctor, treatment provider, or concerned citizen to appear on our show to illustrate the carnage that 2004's so-called reform is wreaking on the voters and citizens of California. We exist to tell "YOUR" story! We are in the process of enlarging our network of public access television stations that will carry our program and our message to the people of California. We exist to give "YOU" a media voice!

If you've ever had to deal with a Workers Compensation insurance company to get the benefits that the State Constitution and the State Labor Code guarantee you, you've probably wondered if the system is designed to get you to give up and go away or roll over and die. This is a question that many Californians keep asking themselves.

That's exactly what has happened in an industry fueled by unmitigated greed and facilitated by a system of checks and balances and safety valves that are now non-existent, post SB899.

Through discussions with experts and advocates of the occupationally disabled, and compelling stories and interviews of ordinary California workers who have been evicted from their homes and driven into bankruptcy as a result of the fraudulent business practices of these vicious, predatory sociopaths, we show how the industry has avoided and escaped accountability to the extent that neither lawsuits, punitive damage awards, federal court injunctions, television exposes nor newspaper headlines can derail their pursuit of profits.

Many have asked why the regulatory powers of the state are not being utilized to rope these corporate predators into compliance. The answer to that question is simple. As California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi said on National Public Radio on May 4, 2004:

The reality of it all is that the insurance industry, fueled by their billion dollar money machine (probably where all that premium windfall money is going) has been buying influence with senators and assemblypersons in our state capitol. Government is no longer about doing what is right for it's citizens, it's about doing what is right for the governor, the legislators and THEIR special interests! It's no longer about honesty, fairness & equity, it's about fraud, corruption & how much legislative influence you can buy! It's going to take the federal government to come into this state and clean up this mess that has been allowed to fester over the years.

The insurance industry has twisted and convoluted what was supposed to be a system to help the occupationally injured return to work, and turned it into a bastardized multi-billion dollar money machine that wreaks it's carnage on the occupationally disabled of California by delaying and denying treatment and compensation to the thousands of injured workers that are hurt every year, many due to the gross negligence of their employers.

Some injured worker advocates are trying to influence our legislators to make changes that will help and benefit injured workers. But these legislators are the very reason that we are in this sorry mess in the first place. Just look how many of them totally ignore the will of their constituents, the very people that believed their election promises. And even if they manage to get a meaningful bill passed in the legislature, the Governor will simply veto it and there goes alot of wasted effort for naught! They have allowed themselves to be intimidated and threatened by Governor Moneybags. The legislature has had almost a hundred years to do the right thing and they simply have no desire to do so.

No one in state government is held accountable for the criminal acts that are perpetrated upon California's occupationally injured by the insurance industry. They have free rein to commit the most heinous of crimes, to maim and murder, and hide under the umbrella of what is known as "The Exclusive Remedy!" Not one person has the guts to step up to the plate!
